In 1995, Mike founded The Orlando Company, Inc., in order to provide development and brokerage services to land owners and tenants. His considerable experience in commercial real estate spans more than 20 years. The Orlando portfolio boasts property development projects in Las Vegas, Nevada and in several California counties, including Fresno, Los Angeles, Madera, Orange, Sacramento, and San Diego.
Leadership
Mike is Chairman of the Board and Chief Financial Officer of Sunnyland Mills, manufacturer of specialty grains, founded in 1935, and based in Fresno, CA. Mike purchased Sunnyland in 1995. Sunnyland sells its whole-grain products to distributors and manufacturers nationwide and exports to Canada, Asia, and South America.

Mike is Past Chairman and one of the founders of the Whole Grains Council. Based in Boston, MA, this non-profit consortium includes industry members, scientists, chefs, and the Oldways Preservation and Exchange Trust. The consortium developed the campaign “Whole Grains at Every Meal” to increase American whole grain awareness, consumption, and ultimate health.
